Burnaby is a city in British Columbia, Canada, located in the Lower Mainland region of the province. It is a member municipality of Metro Vancouver, the regional district government that also includes the city of Vancouver and other nearby municipalities. Burnaby is the third-largest city in British Columbia by population, after Vancouver and Surrey, and has a population of about 230,000.
Burnaby was incorporated in 1892, and it achieved city status in 1992. The city is served by SkyTrain’s Expo Line and Millennium Line, which provide convenient public transportation for residents and visitors. Metrotown station in downtown Metrotown is the busiest station on weekends and the second-busiest on weekdays in the Metro Vancouver area.
